The domed illuminated Palace of Culture and the art deco Museum of Antioquia frame Plaza Botero. The plaza is named after Medellin's native son and Colombia's most famous artist, Fernando Botero, who donated 23 sculptures to sit in the plaza. A dramatic twilight sky outlines the Andes Mountains that surround the city in the Aburra Valley.
